Basic Animal Rescue Training thanks the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Foundation, one of BART’s platinum donors, and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association for supporting and funding the initial formation of our program.
The Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association is the unified voice for the veterinary profession in Minnesota and promotes the advancement of the veterinary profession and its members. Its partner, the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Foundation, is a 501(c)(3)non profit organization whose goal is to help secure the future of the veterinary medical profession by funding scholarships, animal health, public and professional education as well as projects and organizations that promote the health and well being of animals in Minnesota.
When Dr Olson thought of establishing Basic Animal Rescue Training in 2004, she approached both organizations for assistance. The MVMF donated the initial funding to begin the program and continued their financial support this past year as well. The MVMA agreed to accept and support BART as one of its programs, and has assisted with spreading the word throughout the Minnesota veterinary community. BART thus began as a non-profit program strongly endorsed by the veterinary profession in Minnesota. BART’s robust growth and success would not have been possible without the backing of both of these organizations.
What do the MVMA and MVMF say about BART? “When the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Foundation were approached about the unique need for animal rescue training for first responders at local fire departments, the boards of both organizations recognized the importance of this program and heeded the call to provide funding and staff support to initiate and help grow the BART program. We are pleased with the development of BART and how it is contributing to the important health and welfare of our families and their pets.”
