Andover Fire Department
Basic Animal Rescue Training
BART Volunteers trained Fire Fighters and First Responders at the Andover Fire Department on April 25, 2007 in 2 separate sessions that day. It was great to see such a good turnout and enthusiasm from everyone to learn how to rescue and save animals the BART way!!
Thank you for all your help and support!
On Dec 3, 2010 at 4:20 pm Andover fire Dept. was dispatched by the request of Anoka county Sheriffs Dept. to assist with a dog that was through the ice in a pond. Andover Fire responded and assisted getting the dog out of the water. The snare pole provided with our BART bag kit was used because the dog was scared and trying to bite the rescue personal at first. The dog was brought back to the station to get dried off and warm it up, then it was taken by the CSO
to the pound till the owner could be found.
Thank you Firefighters Schroeder and Hale for all your help.
BART training to the rescue!
